Unleashing the Value of Enterprise Risk Management

Tara Heusé Skinner
Solutions Architect, SAS Institute, Inc.

In response to today's turbulent economic environment, senior management is being held accountable for a company's successes or failures.  Many credit union executives are seeking processes that can help them better understand and manage critical risks and are realizing that a more encompassing ERM approach can help executives do just that.  ERM ... it's not just about cutting your losses.  There is much strategic value in having a better understanding whether your organization is being adequately compensated for the risks you have chosen to take.

A member of the Americas Risk Practice team for SAS, Solutions Architect Tara Heusé Skinner provides consultative guidance in SAS risk management solutions for clients.
An experienced regional bank Chief Risk Officer, Ms. Skinner created enterprise risk management divisions for two separate Top 50 U.S. Banks.

Ms. Skinner co-authored a book for the American Bankers Association, The Bank Executive's Guide to Enterprise Risk Management (2006) and penned the opinion piece, "In Defense of AMA Methodology," for Oprisk and Compliance (February 2006).

Ms. Skinner's financial industry career spans over twenty years. She holds an MBA from Louisiana State University, and is a distinguished graduate of the Stonier Graduate School of Banking. Her Stonier Strategic Leadership thesis is published in the Harvard Business School library. Ms. Skinner now serves on Stonier’s faculty and is a former member of its board of advisors. She is also a Ph.D. candidate at the International School of Management in Paris.
