The Westcorp Lawsuit: An Inside Look

Stuart Perlitsh, President/CEO
Glendale Area Schools FCU

Please join us on March 8 when Sarah Snell Cooke, Credit Union Times Editor-in-Chief, will interview Stuart Perlitsh, President and CEO of Glendale Area Schools FCU, one of the credit unions involved with the lawsuit against the directors and management of WesCorp.

In June 2009, as a result of devastating capital losses at WesCorp FCU, Mr. Perlitsh recommended and the GASFCU Board of Directors unanimously approved to fund a lawsuit against the former directors and officers of WesCorp FCU.  Stuart and six other credit unions, representing both state and federal charters, filed suit in Los Angeles Superior Court in November of 2009.

Join us to hear Mr. Perlitsh’s opinion on whether he still feels the filing was necessary; how his peers feel about the action; what, if anything, he would do differently if he had the chance; whether he has heard of other lawsuits brewing and a host of other thoughts ranging from NCUA’s proposal to GASFCU’s willingness to participate in corporate CUs in the future.

Credit Unions of the Future: What Will They Offer and How They Will Deliver It
Thomas Wright, Publisher, Credit Union tech-talk

Credit unions can be counted on to be leaders when it comes to deploying new technologies to better serve their members. Despite the difficult economy, credit unions are responding with innovative solutions. This Professional Development Seminar, led by Credit Union tech-talk Publisher Tom Wright, will provide a broad overview of some of the current technology developments at all member touchpoints: online, ATM, call center and branch. Mr. Wright will cover the latest developments in service delivery across the credit union movement, with an eye towards leading edge and bleeding edge trends that should interest both credit union IT professionals and senior credit union managers.

Tom Wright is the Editor and Publisher of the Credit Union tech-talk newsletter and has over twenty years computer industry experience including consulting and project management experience as well as a technical support and training background at Citibank, MCI, and Microsoft.
