The WestCorp Lawsuit: An Inside Look

Stuart Perlitsh
President/CEO, Glendale Area Schools FCU

Sarah Snell Cooke, Credit Union Times Editor-in-Chief, will interview Stuart Perlitsh, President and CEO of Glendale Area Schools FCU, one of the credit unions involved with the lawsuit against the directors and management of WesCorp.

In June 2009, as a result of devastating capital losses at WesCorp FCU, Mr. Perlitsh recommended, and the GASFCU Board of Directors unanimously approved, to fund a lawsuit against the former directors and officers of WesCorp FCU.  Stuart and six other credit unions, representing both state and federal charters, filed suit in Los Angeles Superior Court in November of 2009.

Join us to hear Mr. Perlitsh’s opinion on whether he still feels the filing was necessary; how his peers feel about the action; what, if anything, he would do differently if he had the chance; whether he has heard of other lawsuits brewing and a host of other thoughts ranging from NCUA’s proposal to GASFCU’s willingness to participate in corporate CUs in the future.
