Please join us on June 28 when The Honorable Debbie Matz will bring us the very latest from NCUA. Chair of the NCUA Board, Mrs. Matz is the spokesperson for the agency and oversees the regulation of federal credit unions and the administration of the federal insurance fund covering approximately 8,000 credit unions with over $800 billion in assets.

Prior to becoming NCUA board chair, Mrs. Matz served on President Obama’s Economic Transition Team. From 2006 until June 2008, Mrs. Matz was the Executive Vice-President/Chief Operating Officer of a federal credit union serving 90,000 members with branches in the United States and Europe.

Inside the Engine of Asset Liability Management (ALM)
Rick Jones, Senior Education Consultant, ProfitStars

Join ProfitStars' Senior Education Consultant, Rick Jones, for this Professional Development Seminar, beginning with the fundamental building blocks of Asset Liability Management (ALM) and proceeding to the analysis required by NCUA. The workshop will provide essential ALM concepts for CEOs, CFOs, accounting staff and volunteers (NCUA, in its proposed rules, mandates that directors receive fundamental education on basic accounting concepts). Mr. Jones has led classes for FDIC, the Federal Reserve, NCUA and other regulators. He will address the following in detail:

Interest rate risk
The principles of time value of money
Measuring and defining risk to earnings
Measuring and defining risk to capital (net economic value)
The impact of ALM on your credit union

The seminar will be a hands-on workshop. In addition to the afore-mentioned discussion points, Mr. Jones will lead the group in a tutorial exercise. Session slides will be provided to attendees.
